Abstract

550,575. Vehicle bodies. STANDARD MOTOR CO., Ltd., and TURNER, W. R. Oct. 6, 1941. Nos. 12887 and 14353. [Class 108 (i)] The body side 30 of a motor vehicle is formed integrally with the outer portion 15 of the adjacent front wing as a sheet-metal pressing. The inner part 16 of the front wing is joined along creases 17 and 12 to the outer part 15, the rear of which is carried through beneath the door threshold to join the forward edge of the rear wing. The bonnet 25, which is shown in raised position, rests in the lowered position with its side edges 26 upon ledges 27 of the wing portions 15. A body side formed integrally with the outer portion of the adjacent front wing or with the outer portions of the adjacent front and rear wings may be of mouldable material.
