[Class 35] To enable a dynamo-electric machine to be run at high speeds and with high current densities, the slip-rings which extend beyond the armature bearing are enclosed in a separate casing with an inlet at one end covered by a filter to trap dust or gases and an outlet at the other end to the atmosphere ; a fan is mounted on the shaft to circulate air from outside through the machine. Specifications 12889/10 and 9201/11, [both in Class 35], are referred to.
