Abstract

549,688. Sifting apparatus. TURNER, Ltd., E. R. & F., and STUBBS, W. F. May 29, 1941, No. 6902. [Class 117] Sieve cleaning devices adapted to engage both surfaces of the sieve comprise brushes 4 and hanging elements such as chains 5 or wires, plates &c. The cleaning devices are carried by a frame running on rollers 9 on the sieve supporting structure and reciprocated independently of the sieve by a crank and connecting rod 14. The brushes are clamped to transverse rods 7, and the chains are slung between bars 13 carried by rods 12. Slots 15, which may be partly covered by hessian 16, are provided in the sieve frame to give clearance for the relative movement of the cleaning devices.
