Abstract
549,108. Securing crank-pins to cranks. LE GRAND, SUTCLIFF & GELL, Ltd., and MATHESON, N. April 1. 1941, No. 4366. [Class 80 (ii)] A crank pin a is secured to a crank by the engagement of coned faces a<SP>1</SP> on the pin and d<SP>1</SP> on a divided or split ring d slidable on a reduced part a<SP>2</SP> of the pin with oppositely coned parts of a bore b in the crank through which the reduced patt a<SP>2</SP> of the pin a loosely passes. The tightening is effected by a nut screwed on the reduced part a<SP>2</SP>. Relative rotation of the pin a and crank is also prevented by a key e engaging these parts. The angle of the coned faces is such that binding is avoided to permit easy dismantling.
