Abstract
549,066. Flushing-pipe joints for water closets. HERBERT, H. C. Aug. 21, 1941, No. 10667. [Class 99 (i)] The usual red lead joint between the flushing pipe 11 and the nozzle 12 of a closet-pan is covered with a split conical sleeve 4 which is drawn together by a screw and nut or other connection not shown. The sleeve has a rounded end 5 which engages a rim 14 on the nozzle. To enable the sleeve to be reduced in length if necessary, the ends, which may be broken off, are scored at 15.
