Abstract

547,198. Binding-posts ; distribution boards. FOSTER INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd., and FOSTER, C. E. Feb. 26, 1941, No. 2628. [Class 38 (i)] A connector or terminal board which may constitute a busbar construction, comprises a pair of strips 6, 14 having their ends bent and apertured to receive a wire or terminal tag 18 and a spring 10 of a flat V- shape that tends to move the apertures in the strips out of alignment so as to grip the wire or tag. The connector so formed is housed in a cell between partitions 2 in an insulating base 1, being retained therein by overhanging lips 5 on bars 3 and by a projection 7 entering recesses 19 in the base and in the partitions. A second wire or terminal tag can be inserted in the opposite end of the connector or a series of connectors can be interconnected to form a busbar by the insertion of a comb-shaped plate, Fig. 11, or a similar device bent from a length of wire.
