[Class 53] A plate for an alkaline accumulator comprises a one-piece three-sided frame a, formed by notching and bending a length of channel-section metal, into which are inserted the edges of the active sections or pockets b the frame being then rolled or pressed on to the sections. A bus bar d or bridge-piece may be welded at the ends to the frame. In a modification, a bridge connecting several plates is welded to the top of one side member only of each of the frames.
