546,750. Coated paper. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. Jan. 28, 1941, No. 1110. Convention date, March 9, 1940. [Class 140] [Also in Group XVI] A manifolding sheet comprises a base sheet 20 of paper, tissue &c. with a coating 21 having dispersed therein discrete liquid 'inclusions 22 containing colouring matter such that upon impact or pressure against the manifolding sheet by a printing or writing member the coating is ruptured releasing the liquid inclusions at that point which are absorbed by the underlying transfer sheet. The liquid inclusions may consist of carbon black suspended in a suitable liquid emulsified in' a suitable solution, e.g. glycerine 80 per cent., polyethylene glycol 14 per cent., carbon black 6 per cent..for the liquid inclusions, and gum dammar 50 per cent., toluene 50 per cent. for the solution, the emulsion being made up of one part liquid colour suspension to three parts solution and the final liquid colour particles being so minute as to be invisible.
