Abstract
544,620. Supporting electric lamps, THORPE, Ltd., F. W., and THORPE, F. W. Oct. 30, 1940, No. 15855. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A disconnectible mounting for a lamp comprises a fixed.support 1 within which contacts 8 are mounted and connected to the supply leads, and a detachable part 12 carrying a lampholder 24 with blade contacts 28 that engage the contacts 8 when the part 12 is rocked on trunnions 20 into a vertical position. When in an,oblique position as shown the contacts are disengaged and the trunnions 20 can be passed through gaps 10 in their support recesses 9 to detach the part 12 from the support 1. When the contacts are engaged they are enclosed by the walls 5, 14 and the, parts may be locked in this position by a screw 29. The lamp holder 24 is adjustable in relation to a reflector attached to the flange 13 and is clamped in position by a screw 23 entering ,a slot 26 in the oblong shank 25 of the holder.
