Abstract

543,396. Valves. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SAXBY, R. N. Aug. 22, 1940, No. 13319. [Class 135] A valve device particularly adapted for use in connection with the testing arrangements for the pneumatic or hydraulic equipment used on aeroplanes and used for supplying pressure fluid from either of two alternative sources has a valve member arranged to be moved by fluid pressure from the source in operation so as automatically to connect this source to the consuming device and to seal the connection to the source not in operation. The cylindrical valve member 18 has cup-shaped ends adapted to seat alternately on rubber washers 23, 24 and is guided for movement in a cylindrical chamber 16 by radial projections 19 - 22. The two supplies are supplied to the two ends of the cylindrical chamber while the consuming device is connected to a port in the cylindrical wall.
