Abstract

542,359. Portable buildings; stabs. SMITH, A., and HARRISON, SMITH BUILDINGS, Ltd. April 18, 1940, No. 6985. [Classes 20 (i) and 87 (i)] A hut or like portable structure has walls comprising inter-fitting slabs of concrete c, or like mouldable material, each slab being formed on its inner face adjacent its edges with a rib c<SP>1</SP> having a series of holes d<SP>1</SP> therein to receive plugs to facilitate the attachment of a lining d m spaced relation to the wall, each slab being also provided with a rib and recess d<SP>2</SP>, d<SP>3</SP> respectively on opposed lateral edges and with registering apertures d<SP>4</SP> on upper and lower edges to receive dowels for alignment. The lining is secured by screws, screwing into the plugs in the ribs. Some of the panels may be apertured for the reception of windows or doors. Stanchions f with side edges shaped to engage the slabs may be used at intervals. The floor may have an interposed layer of building paper between two thicknesses of concrete.
