Abstract
542,022. Conveyers. MOLINS, D. W., RUAU, F. F., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. May 18, 1940, No. 13050/41. Divided out of 541,999. [Class 78 (i)] In a collecting mechanism for cigarettes or other rod-shaped articles in which a number of receptacles R, shown in side elevation, are carried by a conveyer in close succession in a closed or other path below a filling station, the speed of the receptacle is increased during the change of feed from one receptacle to the succeeding receptacle. The receptacles are moved by endless chains 14, 15 driven by an electric motor 201 as described in Specifications 541,998 and 541,999. The motor is normally supplied with current through a rheostat 202, the arm 203 then abutting against stop 209. When the junction between two receptacles is adjacent the discharge point from conveyer 4, projection 204 on a receptacle engages the upward extension 205 of arm 203 and cuts out the rheostat 202.
