Abstract

540,955. Electric heating of oil tanks. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., and CAVE, P. W. July 11, 1940, No. 11563. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric heater suitable for application to the outside of an oil tank comprises a high resistance conductor insulated with asbestos and enclosed in a lead sheath, which is bent into zigzag form 2 and secured to an asbestos sheet 1 by clips 4. Each clip may comprise a metal strip forming a loop around the cable, the ends passing through a slit in a metal washer secured to the sheet. The ends of the sheet are provided with eyelet holes 7 so that it may be bound with wire against the outside of a tank.
