539,981. Capsuling bottles. ENOCK, A, G. March 14, 1941, No. 4939/40. [Class 125 (ii)] Relates to apparatus of the kind having a central plunger E which presses viscose or cellulosic &c. capping material on to the top of the bottle mouth and a sealing element composed of a ring of separate segments a<SP>1</SP>, each mounted on a pivoted arm a. The arms are surrounded by a ring C of rubber &c. which, when compressed by a vertically moving member D, forces the segments inwards to seal the cap. Each segment may be independently steam-heated, being cored out at a<SP>4</SP> to allow the passage of steam through flexible connections a<SP>5</SP>, a<SP>6</SP>. The segments may, however, be electrically heated. The plunger E may be steam or electrically headed. Specifications 402,115 and 414,740 are referred to.
