Abstract

539,397. Sugar preparations. VITAMOL, Inc., and GOLODETZ, A. March 14, 1940, No. 4794. Addition to 500,770. [Class 127] [Also in Group I] An oil concentrate of vitamins A and D is emulsified in concentrated aqueous solution of sugar or sugars, the relative proportions being such that the sugar solution forms the continuous phase, and the emulsion is added to poultry and cattle feeds. The emulsification is performed in a homogenizer under conditions which avoid churning air into the material. An emulsion stabilizer such as gum arabic, gelatine, dextrin, pectin, vegetable gums, agar-agar and isinglass may be used. Mineral salts or other substances normally present in molasses may be added to the emulsion.
