Abstract

539,285. Fuel oils. GRUNDY, S. B. March 8, 1940, No. 4323. [Class 91] A preparation for addition to motor spirit for preventing "pinking" and for increasing the combustion value of low-grade spirit, comprises naphthalene and graphite with which a small proportion of xylidine is incorporated in the form of a fine spray, the resultant powder being compressed into tablet form. The graphite may be in colloidal form and may be added in paste form in a carrier such as lanoline. An example is given.
