Abstract
537,159. Gloves. KIRCHNER, R. V., and MISTELE, F. K. April 8, 1940, No. 6309. Convention date, Nov. 13, 1939. [Class 141] A so-called reversible glove, that is one that can be worn on either hand, comprises identical front and rear blanks 3 each comprising tapering finger portions 5 ... 8 and a thumb portion 4 connected to the base of the index finger by a web 9 substantially transverse to both the inside lines of the thumb and index finger portions, an outward bulge being formed at 10 to accommodate the thumb joint. These blanks are connected together by four fourchettes, Fig. 2, one for the thumb and index finger, separate ones for the second and third fingers, and the fourth for the little finger and extending downwards to the base of the glove. These fourchettes, which are secured by seams 24, Fig. 1, have flared ends 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, and 21, 23, Fig. 2, and narrow portions 12, 13, 16, 19, 22 corresponding to the tips of the thumb and fingers. One continuous fourchette may, however, be used for the whole glove.
