Abstract

535,037. Inks. FRANCIS, F. G. Nov. 18, 1939, No. 30340. [Class 146 (iii)] [Also in Group XVI] In a carbon sheet of the kind having a backing or sealing coating for preventing offset (see Group XVI), the usual apparatus is employed for affecting ink-impregnation by the hot or cold process. The ink employed may comprise a mineral oil, preferably transformer oil, a pigment or .lake, and an aniline dye base dissolved in a fatty acid. For instance a purple ink consists of methyl violet base dissolved in an excess of oleic acid and then added to mineral oil to which purple lake is subsequently added. Other stated bases and lakes are employed for black, red &c. inks.
