[Class 98 (i)] A movable film-guide carried by a slidably removable camera back moves to an inoperative position as the back is removed, and is automatically returned into guiding position in relation to the exposure frame by means carried by the back and engaging a part of the camera when the back is replaced. In the form shown, the camera back comprises the rear and bottom walls 6, 7 of the camera, and engages the body 2 by tongue and groove joints 5, 9 and 8, 10. The back carries a film guide formed by a pressure plate 18 carried by a spring 19 attached to the bottom wall 6 and having two arms 21 secured to the plate and further arms 22 engaging under the raised ends of a strip 24 secured to the back. The spring normally holds the plate in a retracted position, in which it does not engage the film when the back is being applied to the body, but when the back is in position a spring-pressed plunger 26 carried by it is depressed by engagement with the side wall of the groove 10 in the body and moves a wedge member 30 against an inclined tongue 31 on the spring 19, which is thereby raised and moves the pressure plate 18 into contact with the film.
