Abstract
534,291. Pipe joints. PATEX SOC. ANON. Oct. 5, 1939, No. 27291. Convention date, July 29, 1939. [Class 99 (i)] In a joint in which a sealing ring having a cutting edge harder than the pipe is forced into a tapered socket so as to cause it to dig into the pipe the cutting edge is bevelled off at an angle α between 1 degree and 10 degrees for copper, aluminium or light alloy pipes, and between 2 degrees and 55 degrees for brass or steel pipes. The ring may have two cutting edges 11, 12 bevelled off at the same angle.
