[Class 55 (i)] Superheated steam and combustible gas are supplied at the entrance 1 to gasifying chambers A, A<SP>1</SP>, powdered fuel is blown in through pipe 2, and oxygen or oxygen-air mixtures are supplied at the inlets 3 and 4, or 3 and 5, the gases produced leaving at an outlet 6.
