Abstract

529,592. Electrically -heated paint scrapers. PEARCE, L., and OAKLEY, A. May 19, 1939, No. 14948. [Class 39 (iii)] A device for removing paint and the like from woodwork and other foundations comprises a housing accommodating a scraper plate which at one end projects beyond the housing, the other end of the housing being attached to a handle, the predominating portion of said scraper plate being enclosed withir the housing and located between a number of laminations, including insulating layers and ar electrical heating element, said lamina tions being wholly enclosed within the housing. The device shown comprises housing plates 1, 2, a scraper plate 5, an electric heating ele ment 10, metal heatretaining plates 8, 13 and insulating layers 7, 9, 11 and 12. An electrical conducting flex 16 passes through the handle 14, which carries a switch 15. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to U.S.A. Specification 2,062,998.
