Abstract

527,634. Couplings. BLACKBURN AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and EMSLEY, F. March 28, 1939, No. 9659. [Class 38 (i) Pipes 15, wires 17, and cables 16 are bonded to a metal structure 14 such as part of an aircraft, by clamps or cleats 10 of arched form made of conductive rubber and secured to the structure 14, or to a bridge-shaped member 18 attached thereto, by a bolt 13 screwing into a flanged nut 21 that may be riveted to the member 18. The conductive rubber clamps may be made of a rubber composition containing not more than 50 per cent. of carbonaceous black and having a resistivity of not more than 20 ohms, or a coating of metal such as sprayed tin may be applied to the rubber moulding. The pressure on the clamps may be distributed by a channel section washer 22, and a sheet 24 of zinc may be interposed between the cables &c. 16 and the metal structure. The bolt 13 may be of such a length that one or more of the pipes &c. can be removed from the clamp without completely unscrewing the bolt from the nut 21.
