524,238. Closures for jars. REDBROOK TIN PLATE CO., Ltd., and HORTON, W. T. Jan. 25, 1939, No. 2523. [Class 125 (iii)] Jars and like containers with peripheral shoulders adjacent their mouths are sealed by means of a washer 2 of rubber, or waxed cardboard, inside a cap 3 held on by a band 4. The upper edge 8 of the band is wholly inturned, but the lower edge 5 is only slightly inturned, as shown. After the closure consisting of these parts is slipped over the mouth of the jar, the lower edge 5 is rolled or otherwise inturned to the total amount.
