[Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XL] An amplitude and phase adjusting network comprises a resistance capacity bridge 7 ... 10 one diagonal of which input from a transformer 2 is applied, a closed resistance 11 connected at diametrically opposite points to the four corners of the bridge, and output connections from the electrical centre 5 of the bridge and from a movable tapping 19 on the resistance 11 to an amplitude-adjusting potentionmeter 20 from which the final output is taken. The arrangement may be used in connection with cathode-ray oscillographs for examining amplifiers for distortion or for reducing interfering frequences in amplifiers by injecting the same frequences equal in amplitude and opposite in phase.
