[Class 64 (iii)] In heat-exchangers particularly for liquids of motor vehicles of the kind in which tubes b for liquid pass through gill plates a arranged parallel with each other at right angles to the tubes and air or other gas passes between the plates, the front and also the rear edges of the plates are interconnected by reinforcing wires, rods or strips d soldered thereto. Wires d may be passed through holes adjacent the edges of the plates, which form flanges e round the wire and flanges c round the tubes b. The wires may be soldered in notches in the edges of the plates and may extend between strengthening plates f. The wires d are placed in front in positions opposite the spaces between the tubes and in the rear immediately behind the tubes.
