[Class 37] The dielectric of a condenser comprises a lattice of insulating material so that the effective part is constituted, by air in the open spaces. The lattice may comprise bars joined by a thin web of the insulator. The example shows alternating flat sheets of electrodes 2 with lattices 1 clamped by end plates 4, 5. A screw 7 may bear on the pile to adjust the final value. The lattice dielectric may be used, in strip form, for wound condensers.
