[Class 83 (iv)] In a machine for producing corrugated or ribbed sheets of the kind having upper and lower reciprocating dies through which the sheet is fed step by step by an endless conveyer provided with projections which take up their driving thrust in a new position after each stroke of the dies, as described in the parent Specification, the intermittently operated drawing-off rolls are respectively provided with longitudinal ribs and co-operating recesses so that metal or like tiling sheets having spaced ribs may be produced. The sheet is pushed forward by projections 11 on a chain conveyer 10 intermittently operated from the shaft 14 as described in the parent Specification, and the dies 12, 13 are respectively provided with two or more spaced ribs 12a and recesses 13a. The drawing-off rolls 20, 21 are respectively provided with ribs 23 and co-operating recesses 26 to engage the ribs in the sheet. The upper roll is spring-mounted and the lower roll is inter- -mittently driven as described in the parent Specification. In order to prevent over-running of the rolls 20, 21, the shaft of the roll 21 is provided with a ratched wheel 30 which is engaged by a pawl 31 operated through a link 33 and lever 35 from a cam 37 on or driven by the shaft 14 so as to free the roll shaft just before the driving mechanism therefor comes into operation. One or more of the brackets carrying the operative parts are mounted on the frame by shear pins which shear if the sheet fouls any part of the machine and thus prevent damage to the machine.
