520,603. Grinding and polishing. TAYLOR, D. Nov. 15, 1938, No. 33160. [Class 60] A machine for grinding and polishing lenses and other objects has a spindle a, projecting upwards through an opening g in a pan surrounded by a baffle h, and carrying a cap c and a centrifugal impeller j with slots l in a flange i extending under a flange n forming a shallow space in the pan. The centrifugal effect of the slots may be augmented by spiral grooves in one or both surfaces. A discharge pipe o for the abradant charged fluid is provided as shown. The spindle may be the spindle of a motor h or may be driven by such spindle.
