Abstract

520,408. Moulding concrete. SMITH, W. H. Oct. 21, 1938, No. 30510. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A vibrating platform 5, for use in consolidating concrete, is supported from a frame 1 by rubber blocks 4 clamped in pairs to rigid plates fixed to the platform and the frame. Vibration is effected by a shaft 16 carrying a pivoted weight 19 the eccentricity of which can be varied by a tapered member 23 movable axially on the shaft by a fork 27 connected to a control lever engageable in grooves in a rack. The shaft carries pulleys 18 driven by rubber belts or chains 34 from a motor 33 mounted on a pivoted platform 35 with an extension 37 engageable in different positions with a rack '39.
