Abstract

518,798. Hair clippers. FAIREY, C. R. Sept. 6, 1938, No. 26058. [Class 131] In a rotary cutter of a safety razor constituted by a number of helical blades the latter are loaded so as to force them radially outwards from the axis of the cutter against the fixed blade. The blades a are supported at their ends e, f and are loaded by a spring j which is adjustable by a pin k with a cam-shaped head. In another form the collars e, f are connected by a tie-member the effective length of. which may be varied by a screw. Fig. 6 shows an axial rod 5 provided with splines q, r co-operating with the collars whereby after disengagement relative angular adjustment provides the necessary loading.
