Abstract

498,686. Pipe joints. BARNES, F. J. T. July 14, 1937, No. 19566. Addition to 433,722. [Class 99 (i)] In a joint according to the parent Specification, particularly for glass pipes, the resilient sleeve 12 is reduced after application to the pipe to a predetermined diameter by cutting or grinding. The sleeve is then enclosed by a metal sheath 14 retained on the sleeve by a flange 15, the sleeve projecting slightly from the sheath. The sleeve has an internal groove engaging a bead 11 on the pipe.
