[Class 29] The outer walls or coverings 10, 11 of heatinsulated domestic cabinets, particularly refrigerators cooled by absorption refrigerating apparatus mounted outside a rear wall 58, Fig. 12, are formed of compressed wood or paper masses, such as pasteboard or papier mache, moulded without heat under pressure. The meeting edges of the panels may abut and be covered by a protective strip, or may be overlapped, or a one piece element may be reinforced at its edges. The walls are preferably formed with stiffening ribs 25, Fig. 4, and rounded edges, and are secured to the usual angle-iron frame members 16 of the cabinet by rivets or bolts 23 and to the wood door frame 12, 13 by nails, a covering strip 20 being applied. A separately moulded cover 35, Fig. 8, may be used for the door frame and be secured by strips 34, of synthetic resin on the inside and metal or other strips 39 on the outside. The back covering may be separately formed and also the top 30, Fig. 12, which has a flanged opening 55 over the usual flue space. Two sides and a front, Fig. 11, or one side and one half of the front, or two sides and a top, may be formed in a single moulded element. The covering may be protected from moisture by cementing or lining it with waterproof glue, asphalt, bitumen &c.
