Abstract

535,982. Refrigerators. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Oct 27, 1939, No. 28835. Convention date, Nov. 2, 1938. [Class 29] The door 23 of a domestic cabinet is provided with a one-piece flat or slightly dished inner wall 25 of stiff heat-insulating material connected to the outer metal wall 26 at its edge, thereby avoiding a " breaker " strip and damage due to slamming of the door. The inner wall is secured to the inturned flange 27 of the outer wall by screws 28 which also secure in place a sealing strip 29. This strip has a folding flap 32, Fig. 4, to give access to the screws. The invention may be applied to door openings having " breaker " strips 14 in the plane of the cabinet front, or to curved cabinet fronts.
