516,075. Combined splash - plates and covers for cooking stoves. UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and BLANCHFORD, R. F. June 20, 1938, No. 18243. [Class 126] A back splash-plate a for the hot - plate of a gas or electric cooking- stove is supported by means, such as an inverted U - shaped frame d, movable relatively to the stove so that the splash plate can be moved into a position in which it covers the hotplate, by moving its upper edge vertically and its lower edge across the hot - plate. The same face of the splash-plate is thus exposed in. both vertical and horizontal positions. The vertical limbs of the frame d are slidable vertically in guides c' attached to the rear of the stove. The splashplate is hinged to the cross-bar f of the frame d. When the splash-plate is in the vertical position, its lower edge rests on the tops of the guides c<1>, pins as engaging in recesses to prevent accidental displacement. The splash-plate has a forwardly extending plate b on its upper edge, and/or carries a plate-rack which may be collapsable. The brackets c carrying the guides c<1> are connected by a spacing bar.
