[Class 36] A loaded cable is formed by mechanically lengthening, preferably by successive drawings with intermediate annealing, a work-piece comprising a conducting core carried within a metal sheath by preformed compressed blocks of pulverulent ferro-magnetic material and preformed compressed blocks of pulverulent insulating material, the ferro-magnetic blocks alternating with the insulating blocks along the length of the work-piece. The ferro-magnetic blocks may be separated from the core, or sheath, or both, by compressed sleeves of pulverulent insulation.
