512,212. Making socketed pipes. DEUTSCHE EISENWERKE AKT.-GES. Nov. 29, 1938, No. 34725. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1937. [Classes 83(i) and 83(ii)]. Casting.-Socketed steel pipes are made by centrifugally casting pipes having the diameter of the required finished pipes and the socketed end portions are subsequently formed mechanically, for example by expanding, forging or compressing. The casting is carried out in a mould lined with loose granular material.
