511,896. Photographic cameras. KODAK, Ltd. July 25, 1938, No. 22110. Convention date, July 24, 1937. [Class 98 (i)] In order that a folding camera, having a front cover the bottom of which is disposed in a lower plane than that of the bottom wall of the camera body when the camera is open, may be supported on a plane surface, a support carried by the body is connected with the cover so as to be automatically extended and withdrawn on open ing and closing the camera. As shown, the support comprises a rod 4, sliding in an aperture 5, in the camera body 1, and having a slot 7, engaging one end 8 of a pivoted lever 9, the other end of which is pressed by a spring 14 against a cam 17 on the cover 2. On closing the camera the rod is withdrawn under the action of the spring. In a modification the end 16 of the lever may engage a cam slot fixed to the cover, 2, the spring 14 being omitted. In a further modification the lever 9 and rod 4 are integral.
