[Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] In a quickly detachable shaft-coupling of the kind in which a flat-sided tongue on one shaft f is slipped into a complementary socket in the other shaft b, the said socket is formed by slotting clean through the end of the shaft b and sweating a sleeve c over its end to close the sides of the slot. The inner race of a ball-bearing may be retained between otherwise abutting shoulders d, e on the sleeve and shaft respectively.
