Abstract
507,773. Ceiling - roses. TURNOCK, Ltd., G., and TAYLOR, W.E. Dec. 24, 1937, No. 35703. [Class 38 (i)] In a ceiling-rose &c. a partition of box-like section separating the terminals is provided with flying buttress or arch-like ribs which bridge over the terminal blocks. In Fig. 1, the base 1, the partition 4 of box-like section and the ribs 5 are made of insulating material such as synthetic resin moulded in one piece and the terminal blocks 6 are located by means of the clamping screws 7. Openings 12 at each end of the box and recesses 11 in the walls thereof constitute a grip for the flex, the ends of which are clamped in the apertures 9 of the terminal blocks by means of the screws 7. The ceiling wires are led through holes in the base 1 to apertures 9 in the terminal blocks. The terminal blocks may be stepped as at 18, Fig. 6, the step abutting against a flying buttress. The block is fixed in position by a flex binding screw 19 which passes through the reduced end of the block into a bore in a peg formed integral with the base 1.
