Abstract

506,363. Sliding - clasp fastenings. CORNER. G. H. C., and LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd. Nov. 26, 1937, No. 32742. [Class 44] Sliding-claspfasteners of the non-metallic type with non-metallic sliders have an automatic locking lover 7 operated by the pull tab 17 and hingedly mounted beneath a non-metallic bridge 4 by which the pull tab is retained on the slider, the locking level being of inverted U-shape with a height greater than half its length. The hinge connection may consist in one end 11 of the locking lever, which is of metal, being T-shaped so that it is retained in a cut out portion 9 of a metal frame piece 8 which is secured around one of the upstanding lugs 2, 3 on to which the non-metallic bridge piece 4 is stuck. A cylindrical piece of rubber 19 presses on the locking lever ; alternatively strips cut in the side members of the frame piece may be bent up and act as leaf springs pressing on the lever. The lever has side lugs 18 to prevent it entering too far between, the fastener elements. Specification 503,339 is referred to.
