Abstract

504,103. Mixing-apparatus. LOCKERS (ENGINEERS), Ltd. (An. Tesch Aktiebolag, T.) Sept. 24, 1938, No. 27865. [Class 86] Apparatus for mixing liquids, or liquids and solids, comprises a propeller rotating on a shaft which describes a conical surface and is enclosed by a tube through which the material is circulated. As shown, the propeller shaft 3, surrounded by the tube 14, is carried in bearings 8, 9 and is driven by gears 5, 6. In this form the gyratory motion depends upon the resistance encountered by the propeller, and by the tube in its gyratory movement, and can be varied by braking the propeller shaft or its housing. In another form, the gyratory movement is effected by a separate train of gearing.
