502,636. Road - making materials. NEEDHAM, J. W., and NEEDHAM, G. W. Feb. 18, 1938, No. 5038. [Class 22] Road surfacing material consisting of aggregate such as granite, limestone, basalt, slag, gravel or the like, and a binder of bitumen, tar, pitch or heavy oil, has fine fibrous or powdered asbestos incorporated either in the surface thereof or throughout in proportions of up to 10 per cent or 12 per cent of the total. In employing stone chippings for reconditioning roads, the asbestos may be added to the chippings or to the binder with which the chippings are sprayed.
