Abstract

501,605. Delivering lubricant &c. from containers. TRIER BROS., Ltd., and CROTHERS, P. F. Sept. 1, 1937, Nos. 23949 and 25466. [Class 21] An apparatus for delivering plastic or semiliquid material from storage containers or drums, e.g. for delivering lubricant to a point needing lubrication or to a smaller storage container, grease gun &c. consists of a helix E<2>, Fig. 1, mounted in a close-fitting tube D surrounded by a movable piston F and carried by a lid A of the drum &c. Actuation is by a handle E<1> and egress is through a spout D<2>. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the helix K<2>, tube J<4> and piston J<5> are carried by a tube J slidable vertically soTthat the helix'and tube can move from position in which they are contained by a sleeve 4<1> into the positions shown. A flexible packing ring J<6> and a valve J' for egress of air are provided. In the form shown in Fig. 3 the tube N is slidable, carrying with it the helix O<2> and piston P, the helix carrying a skimming blade Q which has guide blades Q<1> on its upper side.
