Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles.-Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles for viscous or semi - liquid materials such as mustard comprises a cylindrical body A the side of which is enlarged and formed with a duct F<1> terminating in a spout. The piston B works in the cylindrical part and is provided with an operating- stem projecting through the cover A<1>. When the piston is replaced after the receptacle has been replenished with mustard &c., a valve E, the spindle of which passes through the piston, permits the passage of air enclosed over the body of mustard, the valve being forced on to its seating when making contact with the surface of the mustard.
