Abstract

500,962. Alternating-current motors. BRITISH THOMSON.HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 17, 1937, No. 22611. Convention date, Aug. 17, 1936. [Class 35] In a single-phase self-starting synchronous motor with shaded and unshaded stator teeth or polepieces arranged in cylindrical formation within the coil, the teeth or polepieces are held in spaced relationship by a non-magnetic cylindrical spacing member. In the form shown, the shaded polepieces 1<1> of one polarity are integral with the cup 1 and project through slots in shading plates 3 while the disc 4 carries the unshaded polepieces 4<1> of the same polarity. The polepieces 9<1>, 111 of opposite polarity project from plates 9 and 11, shading plates 10 being provided for the polepieces 11<1>. The polepieces are separated by ribs 7 moulded on the inner periphery, of the coil bobbin 6. Specification 446,469 is referred to.
