500,299. Revolving - cylinder pumps and compressors. YOXALL, J., and PROPELLO INVENTIONS, Ltd. Aug. 16, 1937, No. 22489. [Classes 8 (i) and 102 (i)] [Also in Groups XXIV, XXVII, and XXIX] A revolving-cylinder fluid motor or pump comprises a rotor 17 mounted upon an extension 15 of the casing, and driven through a clutch 19 from a shaft 16 mounted within the extension 15. The pistons 29 are loaded by springs 31, and engage a plate 39 mounted on a bearing 38 carried by a housing 32, the inclination of which is variable to vary the stroke of the pistons, and is pivoted on an axis, so arranged, that whatever the inclination, during a part of each revolution at least one cylinder bore is completely filled by its piston. The 'inclination of the housing 32 is adjusted by the screw 35. Grooves 24, 25 are provided for lubrication. The springs 31 press the rotor 17 into engagement with a flat valve plate 27. In a modification the ends of the pistons are provided with hooks which engage short spindles carried by the plate 39.
