495,902. Television ; cathode - ray tubes. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE, Aug. 20, 1937, No. 22852. Convention date. Aug. 21, 1936. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] When a scanning ray enters a glass sheet 4 at the edge of a scanned frame 3, the ray is reflected internally through a right-angle by a rear reflecting edge 5 at an angle of 45‹ and is led to a photo-electric cell 8. A condensing lens 7 focuses the ray on the cell. Line and framing signals are produced by glass sheets at the vertical and the horizontal edge of the frame, and both sheets lead the ray to the same cell, Fig. 2 (not shown). The cell 8 and the cell 10, which is behind the scanning frame and produces the image signal, are connected to a common amplifier 11. Alternatively the glass sheets lead the ray to the cell 10. A scene is scanned by projecting the scanning frame on it, Fig. 5 (not shown). When the fluorescent screen of a cathode-ray tube is scanned by an electronic ray and projected on the scene to be transmitted, the glass sheets are on the edges of the screen and are covered with a fluorescent layer, Fig. 6 (not shown).
