Abstract

494,005. Bundling hanks. CROSSLEY & SONS, Ltd., J., and STANDISH, G. G. May 10, 1938, No. 13982. [Class 94 (i)] The hanks 1 are carried from the drying chamber in rows threaded on poles 2 which, after disengagement from the delivery conveyer, slide on inclined guides 4, 5 to the bundling position, where a predetermined number of rows are compressed between two fork-shaped members 11, 12 into a bundle around which securing bands are placed. The members 11, 12, which are preferably hydraulically operated, are guided by inclined tracks 13, 14 in order to lift the hanks slightly from the poles and thereby facilitate removal. The members 11, 12 may be in two parts coupled by a pin-and-slot connection so that their width may be varied.
