494,000. Hair -- waving appliances. NOSSITER, A. S., and RIDER, E. C. March 5, 1938, No. 6922. [Class 131] An adaptor enabling a hollow tubular electric heater designed for the "root-winding" process of permanent hair-waving to be used in the "tip-winding" process comprises an aluminium T-piece having a tubular neck 2 to receive the heater and a semi-cylindrical heating shoe 1 against which the wound curler is held by spring clips 4 or by a bull-dog clip. A split resilient ring 7 is provided in an annular groove in the neck 2 to secure a good fit in the tubular heater, or the latter may be fitted with tubular liners. The neck may be solid or plugged at the top.
